Hahaha !! I was backtracking your blogs and found out this was your first one and what a good post this was. Oh my god, I totally understand exactly how you feel man because I was a member at 24 hour fitness for 5 years, but you gotta understand thats how bodybuilders train - their caloric intake is skyhigh almost like they have to forcefeed and their metabolic output is slightly intense, just really heavy weight and low reps in order to gain super mass. If thats the body they want then so be it, but keep in mind - their cardio is SUPER WEAK cuz of all the unnecessary weight they are carrying and lack of interval training to keep their heart rates up and their body structure is clumsy and not coordinated or flexible at all since there so ridiculously wide and big they wouldnt last a minute of yoga. I am so glad that I discovered p90x so I don't have to see that again because in the end who really cares about bench pressing 400 pounds for 3 reps while jerking your back or trying to squat 700 pounds with those stupid looking knee wrap things. The big question is can you do jump knee tucks, mary katherines, or corn cob pull ups ?! I think not.

Your observations and commentary are the very reason why I quit the gym and now work out at home using Beachbody workouts. Going to the gym became became an exercise in frustration as far too many people loved to socialize with me in the middle of my workout. Consequently I got no workout in at all.

*snorts* yes, yes indeed. I initially got P90x because between working full time and a full class load for grad school, the LAST thing I could handle was working around a gym schedule. It was either the flossbunny crew in the morning or the meathead market in the evening sucking up space on all the machines and congratulating each other on the 2 drops of sweat they cranked out. Ai, yi yi!! Now I work out harder than ever, thanks to pushing play, eating clean, and bringing it.

I like your idea of limits, I've been struggling with wanting better results. I'll try your version, and keep a bucket close! LOL.

Most of the time, I push play via my videos. But, when I'm traveling, PUSHING PLAY often comes in the form of going to the gym. I use high intensity training no matter where I am, so the results will always remain consistent. ;)

Good stuff Mark...I don't miss that at all! I'm really wondering if I should keep my gym membership even though I haven't been in over 6 months. My "video" workouts spanks everyone's gym workout, except for yours of course.
